Mammoth is a proboscide (animal with trunk) that lived in prehistoric times. It's a cousin of elephants, which has long since disappeared in Europe (12,000 years ago), but much more recently for its dwarf form of Siberia (only 3,700 years ago for the last known individuals).Mammoths had a pair of large curved defenses (up to more than 3 meters in length), and had a thick coat or fur. One species, the woolly Mammoth, had even wool, like sheep. Mammoths lived in cold climates with steppe or tundra vegetation.
